Let’s Get Started
Before you sign on the dotted line, here’s what you need to know
Have a look through all of the information below and when you’re ready, let’s get you booked
-
Nope! We can’t guarantee that we have a nanny available for your care request, so why would we charge you? We only bill for care that is booked and staffed – please note we have a four-hour minimum and if care exceeds the original time booked, the additional time will be charged to the credit card on file.
-
When you make a care reservation, you can rest easy knowing that we have done the heavy lifting for you. Our nannies are fully vetted, insured and employed by SCA. That’s right, every nanny on our team is an employee of SCA! This means you have ZERO tax or employer obligations when using our backup care services.
Our pricing structure is simple. And there is no annual registration fee!

-
We have a four-hour minimum for each booking shift. There is no limit to the number of hours you can request.
-
We employ fully-vetted nannies throughout the Puget Sound and the San Francisco Bay Area. Every care request is posted to our entire team and our nannies choose the location and schedule that works for them! If you have a specific nanny that you have worked with in the past, you can note it on the request – we will reach out to them first and if they are not available, we will post your request to the rest of the team.
-
Welcome! Our team can provide care where you are staying - this includes hotel and rental properties.
-
Absolutely! Our caregivers can care for up to four children at a time. For larger groups, you can request multiple nannies.
The pricing structure for weddings or special events vary - please reach out to our office at office@soundcareagency.com to learn more.
-
We offer in-home, hotel, and event care. Just make sure to include the full address in your care request.
-
At this time, we are not providing any sick care. Should your children become sick before care starts, please notify the nanny and our office ASAP via email at office@soundcareagency.com. Please note our late cancellation policy, so the earlier we know, the better!
-
Tend to each child’s basic physical, emotional and developmental needs
Create a nurturing, safe and appropriately stimulating environment
Engage with your child/ren in age-appropriate (and parent-approved) educational and fun activities both inside and outside of your home
Meal preparation for the children
Set appropriate boundaries
Clean up after meals, activities, etc. pertaining to the children
Assist with homework
-
Driving to activities (while we do not allow our team members to drive children in a vehicle, families can request an Uber or Lyft to transport the nanny and child(ren) to a location).
Administer medication (nannies can provide a reminder if children are older but everything must be pre-measured by a parent or guardian).
Do any household chores besides cleaning up after the children and themselves - safety is our number one focus during care.
Bring activities to entertain the children. Though our caregivers will sometimes bring a goodie bag with simple games and art projects, it is the responsibility of the parents to ensure the children have toys and activities appropriate for the care session (this is especially important if care is to take place at a hotel or another location outside the family’s home).
Be responsible for the care of the family’s pets.
Pay for any activities for the children (nanny will be provided sufficient funds to cover all activities requiring payment)
At this time, we are not providing any sick care.
-
Once a caregiver is booked for your request, you will receive an email confirmation with the nanny’s name and short bio. The nanny will also reach out to you directly (via text) to confirm the day, time and location of care.
As the date approaches, our system will also email you with an update 72 hours, 48 hours and 24 hours before care (if we are still attempting to staff your care request).
-
Once care is confirmed and staffed, you will receive an email from our office with the nanny’s name and short bio including their work experience.
The nanny will also reach out via text for an introduction before care and to confirm the care details.
-
Our policy is to bill and payroll for the entire shift booked. If you need the nanny to come early or the nanny stays later than expected, we will adjust the hours and charge the card on file for the extended time.
-
Bookings that have been staffed with a nanny can be canceled up to 5:00pm the day before care is scheduled. If care is canceled after 5:00pm, a cancellation fee equal to four hours of care will be charged to the credit card on file. Please email our staffing managers at office@soundcareagency.com with any cancellation or time change requests. Any time change requests have to be confirmed with the nanny before a final confirmation can be made.
-
Absolutely! Please note it on the care request form and we will contact that team member first. If you have a nanny you would prefer for us not to contact, please note that as well! If your family would like to request a vaccinated caregiver, please note this as well when submitting your request.
-
Our office will bill the credit card on file for the booked shift after care is complete. If you would like to tip the nanny after care ends, you can do so directly.
-
While our nannies are experienced professionals, it’s important to remember that each client we serve has their own philosophy and set of house rules. it’s always a great idea to take a few minutes to jot down some helpful notes to ensure your nanny is set up for success and your family has a great experience.
Some sample notes include:
Your contact information
Instructions/guidelines for meals
Sleeping schedule routine
Allergy information (including location of EpiPen)
House rules (especially around screen time)
If there are any parks within walking distance
